If you always like Casio’s G-Shock design but find them too large, this will be the ideal watch you are waiting for. Introducing the new GA-2100 Carbon Core Guard, the thinnest analog-digital G-Shock ever made at 11.8mm in height with a case diameter of 45.5 mm. It’s compact dimensions gives it the feel of a conventional watch, avoiding the extremely oversized style of many current G-Shocks models.

Though reduced in size, the GA-2100 has the traditional G-Shock case construction that includes an inner protective bumper around the electronic module. Carbon fibre is integrated into the case’s interior while the exterior design capitalises on the material’s toughness and lightness, weighing only 51g. The strap ends (picture below) are fitted with easy release strap pins, which will make swapping out straps a breeze.

If the bezel looks familar to you, it is actually a rework of the bezel of the original G-Shock of 1983, the DW-5000C, which was octagonal, albeit one with unequal sides.

On the inside, the GA-2100 has an analogue display for the time and day of the week and also two LCD windows for displaying multiple time zones, stopwatch, alarm, countdown and calendar. The watch is visible in the dark thanks to the auto LED light – one that lights up the lumed hands (and indices on the other colors) and a backlight for the digital display window. And finally, the hands can be shifted intentionally for easy viewing of display info.

The GA-2100 will debut with three models: the black and gray GA-2100-1AJF, the blacked-out GA-2100-1A1JF, and the red GA-2100-4AJF.
